A "DJ+Live" Sound Experience For Any Music Venue or Private Gathering...
Jim has been a musician since the age of 6 when his Dad bought him an acoustic guitar from Sears. He was taught the basics by his Dad being a band musician himself in the late 1930’s and 1940’s after WWII. Jim went on to play in popular regional bands in the 1960’s and shared the stages with talents like B.J. Thomas, BB King, Bobby ‘Blue’ Bland and Albert Collins. After returning from a gig courtesy of the US Army, he laid it down for a while until the late 1980's when he helped form two other stage bands. These bands were active until 2020 and disbanded due to the Covid pandemic. He is very passionate about songwriting & recording.
Rob has played drums and percussion most of his life. His musical career began over 25 years ago playing in regional bands and becoming very skilled in his musical craft. Jim and Rob have been jamming together in the same musical groups since 2008. Rob is the ultimate drummer. His hits are almost melodic and captivating to the audience.
In a quest to expand and challenge creativity, both Jim & Rob were part founders of The Frisco Circle Band Project [www.friscocircleband.com] , an outlet for songwriting, recording, Internet Radio and showcasing of Indie musical artists. “Frisco Circle DJ+Live” is the latest to come out of the project.
OK-so what does that have to do with your event? EVERYTHING. On stage knowledge is something that can’t be taught-it's learned by experience and this experience is the force behind the Dynamics, Creativity & Versatility that is brought to your event.
The Frisco Circle looks back to the Hobo culture of Depression Era America. The jungle population would do their best to bring in what provisions they could to supply the camp. In the evening all would gather around and place their contributions into the 'frisco circle'. Everybody contributes; everybody benefits.
THE MELODY BOYS TEXAS SWING BAND
This picture was taken in 1936 in Galveston, Texas. That's my Dad with the Bass Fiddle and my Uncle in the midst with the Fiddle. It was told that they would later travel around with the greats of the Texas Swing Bands of that era. I remember a Nashville great and Grand Ole Opry member, Little Jimmy Dickens, came to our home in east Houston when I was a boy . My Dad, Jimmy D., Uncle Cesar and some others jammed all night long in our living room. I had an old Sears acoustic guitar and they let me sit in. I was "hooked" and never looked back. Thanks Dad and Thanks Uncle Cesar. [You too, Jimmy D.]
